Warning: This May Offend You

I’m psyched because at the end of this month I’m heading back to Chicago to attend a seminar that’s being hosted by my marketing mentor, Mr. Dan Kennedy.

One of the biggest lessons Dan ever taught me is this:

If you aren’t offending someone at least once a day with your marketing, you aren’t making an impact.

Now I gotta level with you…

When I first heard this, it didn’t sit well with me.

Cause truth be told, I’ve always been a pretty dogone nice guy, and didn’t want to intentionally offend anyone.

But you know what I discovered?

Once I learned how to market my business correctly, two things happened:

1. I started making a lot more money

2. As nice as I tried to be, I still offended folks

I can still remember how shocked I was when I received my very first hate mail.

But now, things are different.

My skin has got a whole lot thicker, and when I get emails, like the one I got from Don the other day (see the blog entry below), I let it roll right off my back.

No longer am I shocked.

If you try to please everyone and offend no one, you’re gonna have a business that doesn’t make much money.

Dedicated to your success,
Kevin Thompson
