Kix & Ronnie Do it Again
As I write this, I’m preparing to take most of the day of, but did want to take just a little bit of time to write this article.
Last week Lisa and I went to the Brooks & Dunn concert at the Tacoma Dome, and though it took us almost 3 hours to get there (in heavy traffic), it was soooo worth it.
Especially since we had 5th row seats.
I’ve long admired Kix and Ronnie, and truth is, I’ve seen these guys in concert more times than I can remember.
Whether you listen to country music or not, there’s a serious marketing lesson here.
The reason Brooks & Dunn are such an incredible success (and the reason people like me keep coming back for more), is because they give their fans what they want.
Like I said, I’ve seen these guys in concert many times, and every time I see them, it’s a whole new experience. Every time they go on tour, they produce a better show.
And last week’s performance was no exception.
The show included 40 huge video screens. Each one measuring about 6 feet, by 6 feet.
When the show started, these video screens formed the entire background of the stage, but as things progressed, each of these screens worked independently from the others, and made for some incredible special effects.
Once again, they gave an incredible performance, that left me wanting more.
You can bet that I’ll be right there, buying tickets when they come back to town.
And you can bet that I ain’t the only one who feels this way. This couple standing near us was holding up a huge sign that said, “We’re back for the 15th time”.
Think about that for a minute.
People don’t keep coming back that many times, unless they REALLY feel like they’re getting good value for the money they spend.
And yes, Brooks & Dunn delivers value, that you can be sure of.
The first time I ever saw them in concert was back in 1994, and they’re more popular today than ever.
As usual, they finished the show in fine fashion, by playing one of their signature songs, that’s titled “Only In America”.
But that’s not all.
About half way through the song, three Marines, in full uniform, marched up on stage, stood dead center at attention, and saluted the audience.
The crowd went crazy!
Talk about emotional.
As I write this, I now have the same feeling as I did last week, watching the event “live”, and that’s powerful.
So…
The question you need to ask yourself is this, “Am I so passionate about what I do (and offer) that it makes people want to flock to me?”
If not… Why not?
Truth is, if you’re not passionate about what you do, then it might be time to consider something else.
You’ll never reach your full potential until you get to spend your time doing something that you’re REALLY passionate about.

Hey Kevin,
I'm not terribly familiar with Blogging, but I'd welcome any way that your clients can interact as a whole group (or subset thereof) and do "Brainstorming"! I also think this may be a valuable way to get & give feedback about each of our websites, & the progress we are each making independently.
Thanks!

Kevin,
The idea of providing all of the AIM access to communicate with each other will help those that desire to utilize others ideas that could enhance their efforts.
Best wishes for a Merry Christmas.
