You Gotta Reach Out

In 1999 I discovered a little known secret, and it’s put thousands and thousands of dollars into my bank account since.

I was attending a seminar in Phoenix, Arizona, and one of the speakers shared a very interesting statistic.

He told us that 85% of the population makes buying decisions on two criteria:

1. They buy from someone they already know

2. They buy on a trusted friend or family member’s referral

Once I discovered this little secret, I was able to transform my business into one of the most successful, by-referral-only cleaning and restoration companies in Washington State.

How?

By doing two simple things:

1. I stayed in touch with my clients on a regular basis.

2. I stayed in touch with my prospects on a regular basis.

And like I said, these simple two strategies have made me a fortune.

You see…

As consumers, we love to buy, but we hate to be “sold”.

There’s a HUGE difference between buying something you want (or something that will improve your life), and feeling like you were “sold”.

We’ve all been in a position where we felt like we were being “sold”, and it’s a terrible feeling, isn’t it.

When you register for my Seminar-By-Phone I explain this concept in much greater detail.

But…

One of the biggest secrets in home business is staying in touch with your prospects on a regular basis, and when you do, you give them a buying opportunity (without using any high pressure sales tactics).

By doing so, it allows them to get to know you.

And once they know you, an amazing thing happens.

They start to like you, and more importantly, if they want what you have to offer (which is another business secret - that I’ll reveal tomorrow), they’ll buy from you.

People buy from people they like – they don’t buy from people they don’t like.

And here’s the best part:

With today’s technology, it’s really fast, easy, and inexpensive to reach out and stay in touch with your prospects on a regular basis.

With that said, let me give you a great example.

On my GetMoldSolutions.com website, I offer a HEPA Vacuum for sale.

When people do an internet search for the particular model I offer, they can easily find someone else offering it for a cheaper price.

But, even in spite of this, my prospects are willing to spend more money so they can buy the vacuum from me.

Now why would they do that?

Let me explain.

I got a recent email from one of my subscribers, telling me that they’d done a little bit of research online and had found the same vacuum for a cheaper price somewhere else.

Yet they still bought from me, and paid the extra bucks.

They explained that their decision to buy from me was based on the fact that I’d been the one who was staying in touch with them on a regular basis, and helping them through their mold problem.

Now…

In case you missed the lesson in all of this, not everyone buys, based on price alone.

If they did, we’d all be driving Yugo’s.

This example proves that people buy from people they like, and more importantly, they’re even willing to spend more money (for an identical product), so they can buy from someone they like.

So…

Start staying in touch with your prospects on a regular basis, and watch your profits soar.

Oh, and one more thing.

This strategy is even more important when it comes to your previous buyers.

It’s even easier to get a happy buyer to buy again.

All you have to do is reach out and make contact.

Dedicated to your success,
Kevin Thompson
