Perfection – Schmerfection
I’m one of those people who used to insist on having all his ducks in a row, especially when it comes to business.
You know what I’m talking about.
A place for everything, and everything in its place.
Unfortunately, when you’re a successful entrepreneur, your ducks are bound do get out of line.
In fact, my own ducks haven’t been cooperating for many years now.
They’re NEVER in a row.
At the seminar I attended last week, Dan Kennedy was talking about this very subject, and I gotta say, his presentation made me feel justified.
He was talking about the fact that successful entrepreneur’s are continually creating a certain amount of chaos for themselves.
A few years back, he hired a new secretary, and after working with Dan for a few months, she asked him, “When are we ever going to get caught up with everything?”
His reply was, “Never. If we ever got caught up, that would mean that nothing’s going on in the business, and we’re ALWAYS gonna have plenty going on”.
I too used to dream of the day when I’d have everything caught up, until I finally came to the realization that it would never happen.
And now, after hearing Dan’s story, I don’t ever wanna get things caught up.
Here’s the other BIG lesson I learned from Dan.
Don’t wait for things to be perfect, because they never will be.
Most folks don’t take advantage of the opportunity that’s sitting right in front of them, because they’re continually waiting for conditions to be perfect.
If you’ve ever done this, you know what I’m talking about.
But…
When you take action anyways - in spite of the fact that conditions aren’t perfect (and a few of your ducks might be out of line) – things always have a way of working out.
You see, it’s the process of taking action that gets you going on your journey.
Without action, nothing happens.
That’s why it’s so important to continually be taking action.
