The NON-Baby Shower
Odds are, unless you've only been a subscriber for a VERY short period, you already know the BIG news.
Lisa and I are getting ready to have a baby, and her due date is April 17th.
As you can imagine, after 3 miscarriages in the past, this is a SERIOUS time of celebration in our lives.
A couple months ago, Lisa's mom began planning the baby shower.
When they began talking about it, I commented about being out of the house on the day of the shower, so the ladies could have the place to themselves.
My thought process was that baby showers were for women, and men don't usually attend such events.
But, to my surprise, Lisa would hear nothing of it.
She insisted that I be there for the baby shower.
And, she insisted that it would NOT be a "women only" event.
She wanted to invite all of our family and friends, and make it a big day of celebration.
Well…
The baby shower, or should I say NON-Baby Shower was last Saturday.
And let me tell you, it was unlike anything I've ever seen.
We had a houseful of more than 50 friends and family, who all showed up to celebrate the occasion with us.
What amazed me most was the fact that there were so many men who showed up.
My best friends Scott and Robert even spent the afternoon with us.
It doesn't surprise me that Scott came over – but Robert – that's another story.
Robert is what you'd consider a macho guy.
And he's certainly not the kind of guy who goes to baby showers.
Needless to say, it was an event to remember.
But, here's what REALLY made the day special.
After Lisa finished opening all the gifts, everyone began chanting, "Speech – Speech – Speech".
Then, as Lisa began to speak, our entire home got so quiet that you could hear a pin drop.
She thanked everyone for coming to celebrate the soon-to-be birth of our son Brock.
And then…
The tears began to flow down her face as she told everyone about our 3 previous miscarriages, and how she was SO excited to finally be having another baby.
She also told everyone how thankful she was for the opportunity to be a stay at home mom, so she could now be there for our son Brock, as well as the other kids.
You see – one of our long time goals was to get Lisa home from work, and I've been on Cloud 9 ever since we realized that goal a few weeks ago.
And Lisa – well, let's just say that I've become a hero to her and the kids over the last several years, and I've gotta tell you, it feels REALLY good.
Sure, it's extremely rewarding to know that I have such a successful business.
It's rewarding to know that I'm helping others.
It's rewarding to know that I'm making a difference in the world.
But that's not what REALLY motivates me.
And yes, I get great satisfaction, knowing that I'm a hero to my wife and kids.
But here's what excites me the most:
Knowing that I've had a hand in helping YOU become the hero for YOUR family.
If something I've said, or a strategy I've shared, or a story I've told has had that kind of an impact on you – then that's what REALLY gets me fired up.
After all, that's what this is all about.
Showing you how to have a business that funds your ideal lifestyle.
Because, when it comes right down to it, it's NOT really about business.
It's about moments like the NON-Baby Shower.
That's why we do what we do.
So we can have plenty of moments like that.
I'm sure you agree.
And when you're ready to make it happen, I'm right here to give you all the help you need
