Selling – No Such Thing
I got a VERY interesting letter from one of my clients the other day.
In that letter, he said something that I couldn't believe.
Why?
Cause most people NEVER get this.
In fact, the majority of business owners and entrepreneurs never get this, yet if they did, they'd have more business than they'd know what to do with.
Here's what he said:
"People ask me when I learned how to sell.
I tell them I was six years old when my grandfather taught me that there's no such thing as selling.
What you do is build a great friendship with your customers".
And let me tell you – NO truer words have ever been spoken.
I've long said that nobody cares about you, your business, your products, or your services… UNTIL they know, trust and like you.
And the way you accomplish this is to become a friend first.
Now, just in case you're wondering, yes, I've made this mistake in the past.
When I started my first business, I was all about making a buck.
My entire business was about what I wanted.
My goals.
My agenda.
But…
Once I took my eyes off myself, and became focused on becoming a true friend to every customer who had the good fortune to meet me, an amazing thing happened.
My business began to grow like CRAZY.
It was if I'd opened up a fire hydrant, and now, I couldn't shut it down if I wanted to.
So, let me ask you:
Are you friends with your customers and clients?
Or…
Do you view them as a necessary evil in your business?
I certainly hope it's not the latter.
Dedicated to your success,
Kevin Thompson
