It’s The Environment… Baby

Last Saturday night, Lisa and I went out for dinner with some friends we hadn’t seen in some time.

While at dinner, they were commenting on what a happy baby Brock was.

What made this remark so interesting was the fact that we had just returned home from an all day trip.

We’d got up that morning, and decided to take a trip over to Leavenworth, Washington – which is about a 2-hour drive, each way.

We left our home that morning around 8am, and returned home about 5:30 in the evening – just in time to meet our friends for dinner.

Needless to say, it was a long day, and most children Brock’s age wouldn’t have faired very well on such a trip.

Yet Brock had a great time, and even at the end of the day, he was all smiles.

That evening, on the way home from dinner, Lisa and I were talking about the comment our friends had made – the one about Brock being such a happy baby.

And that’s the truth. He’s IS a very happy baby.

The reason for this is due to his environment.

He’s surrounded by parents and family who love him.

He’s encouraged to explore his world, and discover new things.

He’s praised on a regular basis.

It’s no surprise that he is the way he is.

He’s got an environment that’s incredibly positive.

When I look back on my own life, my parents raised me the same way.

But…

Once I got out on my own, and was exposed to a different environment, things began to change.

And they changed for the worse.

Maybe you can relate.

You see – when we’re constantly bombarded by negative comments from friends, family, and co-workers, we soon begin to believe what they say.

We make the mistake of taking their words as gospel, and when we do, it has a devastating effect on our belief system.

But…

When we surround ourselves with forward thinking people who want to see us at our best, the result is completely different.

We accomplish things that we once thought impossible.

We effortlessly attract munee into our life.

Relationships with those closest to us improve, almost as if by magic.

I realize – if you’ve never experienced this for yourself, what I’m saying may be difficult to believe.

But…

If you have had such experiences in the past, you already know that what I’m saying is 100% true.
